But tomorrow I leave for the California Salmon River, to brave Class IV and V rapids like these with my 66-year-old mother. It’s a four day trip in the middle of the Shasta Mountains, no cell phone reception, no Internets. I’m quite excited.
You wanna shower? Go in the river. You wanna poop? Apparently they have bathrooms. Either way, this is going to be hugely rustic for me. Not my first time white water rafting, but my first time going for more than one day.
So strap on your life vests and helmets kids, I suspect this is going to be one hell of a ride. See you next Tuesday.
